Into the fray.
I have decided to join in the craziness of NaBloPoMo 2014 (National Blog Posting Month). A blog post a day for the month of November. Yikes!!
For me it’s about less thinking and more doing. Thinking is my comfort zone. I have to think too much before I put myself out there. So I don’t get out there nearly enough. Both in my writing and in the world.
My biggest challenge will be posting every day. Routines, habits, schedules – these haven’t been a strong part of my life lately. This challenge will help me stretch myself back into shape.
Through NaBloPoMo and writing a post every day, I also hope to strengthen my writing voice. What will I write about each day? Let me think about that. 🙂
Musings and Mosaics is about, well, my musings on bits and pieces of my life and travels, when I’m lucky enough to be traveling. With a moment of mosaic at the end.
Now here it is, your Moment of Mosaic. My next mosaic project – a Roman Knot, which I think I will make into a small table.
I found your blog via the BlogHer blogroll will admit I clicked on your link because of the title of your blog. I am a lover of mosaics, though I have never attempted to actually make one, as you have. I recognized the one in your header immediately, though couldn’t place where I’d seen it before (though your About page did enlighten me). I’ll come say hi later in the month to encourage you to keep going. This is a much more difficult challenge than it appears on the surface!
Thanks for the encouragement Angela. I really like mosaics and have made two so far. Designing them is not so easy, so I think I will stick to patterns until I get better. Writing is not so easy either and after I signed up for this and posted my first post, I had a moment of panic and wondered “what had I done?” But i’ll take it one day at a time. I see you’ve done it several times and are doing it again. Good luck!
Like Angela, I found your blog via BlogHer and also clicked because of the title of your blog. Love the title. Life is a mosaic! And, thinking is my comfort zone too, so I can definitely relate to what you’ve said here in this post. Best of luck as you put yourself out there for NaBloPoMo 🙂
Hi CC, thanks for the encouragement. And good luck to you, both on the NaBloPoMo and your journey of self-discovery. I’ve been on mine for the last ten years after years of running from myself. It is the journey of our lives.
